34 things I saw and loved this month

It’s February. The Month of Love. And what better way to celebrate the Month of Love than with a blog about all of the clothing and accessories I loved in the last 30 days.

I love the exercise of looking back through the items I’ve pinned. In some respects, this is a gut check to confirm ‘do I really love that thing I pinned?’ Undoubtedly a couple things come off the list. At the opposite end of the spectrum I’ll find things I’ve pinned multiple times. These make it to my real-real wishlist. And then of course I like to reflect on themes I see – some are industry trends, and some simply expose the things I’m subconsciously drawn to.

So, let’s get down to business. What themes am I seeing??

Industry trendhigh shine and metallics. I somewhat expect to see this around the New Year in the form of fun, sparkly occasion pieces. But we are well beyond the New Year, and metallics are still prevalent AND showing up in everything from shoes, to clothes, to jackets. I clearly had shoes on the brain this past month – this blog includes 11 pairs – and half of them are metallic. The Mango ballerinas are currently sitting in cart.

Industry trendthe return of mid-rise and low slung pants, and cargo. Cargo has been on the rise for awhile now. I really tried to fight the cargo pants movement, but I can’t do it anymore. I pinned 4 pairs, and two of them twice. I will be purchasing at least one pair in the very near future (the pink ones!). I’ve also been thinking about a denim refresh and the pairs I’m loving are mid-rise or lower with a straight or wide leg. I am obsessed with the 3 pairs included in this post. I really must have them all.

Industry trendpink. This one isn’t new. But it’s still going strong, and in so many great shades.

Personal trendjackets. At the start of 2023, I created my closet goals for the year; the pieces I’m hoping to add to my wardrobe. At the top of that list was jackets. I’ve traditionally opted for functional coats – it just gets too cold here to prioritize style over warmth. However. A jacket can make the look, and I’ve sort of opened my eyes to the idea of layering with a great jacket to achieve both style and warmth. There are 5 really great options in this post, one of which I now own (the Madewell Bomber!).

Things I can’t stop thinking about – not everything fits perfectly into a theme. But I still love them. I’ve already snagged the Everlane Canvas Pull-On Pants (in Bone), but there are a few others in this group that I really can’t stop thinking about.

Now on to the good stuff. Scroll on for my February harts!
